Hi all

I'm torn between these 2 tablets. I currently have an ipad 2 that I'm going to keep for home. But I would like a smaller tablet to take with me on my travels,
I know that the ipad mini can sync to my iPhone for the 3G connection can the nexus 7 do this with an iPhone? I just can't decide what to get.

Could someone give me pro's and cons on the two???

Yeah the Nexus 7 can be tethered for data on the go. Or you could also get the 3G Nexus 7 I guess.

They are both great tablets but personally I don't see that the iPad Mini is worth so much more. Best to try out both in person I think.

Yes you can tether the nexus 7 to your iPhone. The nexus is smaller so better from a pure portability point of view. Performance wise the nexus is overall a bit quicker but the difference is negligible in every day use. If you get the mini you will be able to use all of your existing iPad and iPhone apps, accessories etc. and not search for / buy new ones. The mini is basically identical to your iPad 2 with a smaller screen, if you were looking for something new / a change then the nexus is the one to go for. The nexus is also cheaper for the equivalent model.

I had the same decision to make a little while ago actually. Ended up getting the nexus because I wanted built in 3g and I didn't think the iPad justified it's extra cost. I have been very happy with my choice... I am typing this post on it now actually

I was in the same situation as you and decided I'm going for the Nexus 7. I already own an iPod/ipad3 and IPhone 5. I want something smaller and im not going to buy an ipad mini when i already sold my ipad 2.
