just plugged my 16Gb Ipad 4 into my pc and my other section on itunes is 7GB.

I have no music / photos on it.

Only a few apps and none bigger than 100mb.

How can i clear up this space?

I want room to put a few films on it really.

didn't really want to but it might resolve to that its jailbroken and dnt really wanna re-do it all again and map all the cydia sources back
If you're jailbroken try the Cydia app iCleaner. Also the Other section will be where things like winterboard themes are calculated so if you tend to have a lot of jailbreak data on there it will be because of that also ;).

But a lot of this data is simply app temporary of which tbh I think the iPhone does a poor job of managing. For example Facebook takes up 200MB of storage on it's own which is more then likely cached images which aren't needed. The app iCleaner mentioned earlier will clears these temporary files for you. An alternatives if you are not jailbroken in the future is this app for you're PC which does it over USB: http://www.imobie.com/phoneclean/

don't have any themes on it tbh on jailbroke it yesterday decided to do a full restore re-jailbreak see how it goes

I've had troubles with this before, turning the ipad on and off and connecting it to the computer usually resolves this.

I've found that sometimes when I delete video files from the film section, it goes into a sort of recycle folder in the 'Other' section, which doesn't clean out until its reset.

Give that a try.

This. I had a similar problem where I copied a film onto my iPad via iTunes, then deleted it, but the storage space was still used up. I had to reconnect it to iTunes for it to refresh.
