iPad purchase decision, what would you do?

So I was looking at picking up an iPad base model for £349 when I noticed the offer currently in place on the Education Store. This is an iPad Air & AirPods Pro (which I'm also interested in) for a total of £545.

Obviously the Air is a superior model with double the capacity and it comes with the Airpod Pros for less than £200 more.

I understand there are strong rumours of a new iPad Air being released in the next couple of months but what are the chances of it actually replacing the current Air in this Education Store deal?

What would you do in this situation?

Thanks.

Rumours are pointing to a significant redesign of the Air, making it more in line with the Pro. On the other hand, rumours about Apple products have been fairly unreliable this year, so who knows?

If the iPad is what you really want and the Airpods are just a nice bonus, I'd wait for the new model. I'd GUESS that the new model won't have the 'free' pods offer.

I had planned to get my two children a new iPad Air each and was aware of the student offer (which I'd have to put in some effort to obtain). In the end, I decided to hold off for the new Air with the assumption I'd lose out on the Pods, but I'm in a position where if it doesn't materialize this year I can happily wait until it does.

I'd wait until the announcement.

I'm hoping for an A14-based 10.8-inch iPad Air with Touch ID, price target sub £500 for the base model, plus free Airpods on top if you're a student (the deals runs through October).

100%. They'll probably just discontinue the current Air. Shipping times for a lot of the current iPad Air configs are already into weeks. Clear sign that an upgrade is due.

New models always get the back to school offers, but almost never Black Friday offers (they still get discounted on third party sites, but not on Apple.com).

I'm considering the same thing currently, but as the offer runs until 29th October it's smart to wait and see what they release later this year.

Thanks everyone, I didn't realise the education store discount ran until the end of October. I will hold off for now and see what happens.
