Any one else get safari crashes on an iPad? If I check my diagnostics I have a long list of low memory crashes. The unit is still well in warranty is it worth booking an appointment for a replacement?

I have cleared the history and cookies and it still happens. Occasionally aps shut down as well, not as often as safari though.

A repower doesn't fix it either.

I don't fancy doing a full wipe and losing all my game saved data :(

Is it jailbroken? that could be the cause, I installed Safari Download Manager and it caused Safari to stopworking until I uninstalled

Mine does every so often , isn't it when the iPad runs out of RAM and just crashes out ?

It's not jailbroken, it can't be just when it runs out of ram because it happens even if I reboot. I can make it crash straight away if I visit the sun website but I get random crashes generally surfing as well.

I have days of low memory errors.

I found a 170 odd page thread on it on apple forums with a link to this piece....

I really do not want to set up as a new pad :(

The problem isn't with the iPad the problem is with iOS5 as it leaks memory like a sieve which causes certain apps (and safari as well) to be killed when there isn't enough memory to run them (I know this as I have to use certain apps and safari with extreme caution on my iPod touch after I updated to iOS5 since before the update I had no problems there wasn't any problems with memory usage and now there is).

Ah ok so basically I have to wait for an update and hope it fixes it. It seems to be the ipad2 as well judging from apple forums.

I get frequent crashes when browsing AVForums. Never happened on any other website, I just assumed it was a dodgey ad or something that didn't play well with Safari.
