iPad screen issue

On my iPad I've noticed a mark towards the top of the screen which seems to be under the glass, affected by pressure. Unfortunately my iPad is about 3 weeks outside of the 1 year warranty, am I likely to have any luck if I take it into an apple store?

Went in today, 24days out of warranty, was promptly told I could either buy a replacement unit for £250 or get over it....
