My daughter has a 2020 iPad, which, unfortunately has a broken screen so she keeps pinching my iPad Pro. The screen initially broke by one of her friends accidentally treading on it last year and now it seems as though the replacement screen has failed. Contemplating just getting it done properly via apple, which will come at a good expense. Just wondering, if I send it in for apple to replace the screen do they actually do that, or do they swap it out for a refurb? Thinking that if it is a refurb it will have a better battery as the iPad got hammered a bit through the covid lockdowns which will make paying the apple fee worthwhile. Or do they do as is said on the tin and fix the screen and send the same unit back out again?

If the repair has been completed by using non official parts then Apple won't touch it. At least that was the case a good few years ago with my iPhone

It’s a replacement not a repair.
We’ve never replaced screens on iPads (well. Not in the 10 years I’ve been there)
Usually have to order them in atm due to stock also so might be better off sending it in from home via apple care.

Thanks for the replies all, perhaps just wishful thinking on my part :) For what it's worth I think I'll just go through with it still.
