Hey all,

With your ipad 3G (yes I took the plunge and bought one!) how long do you get on standby?

If you turn off the network connection, how much longer do you get than if you have it on? I see apple quote around 10 hours whilst using it, but how often do you find yourself charging it?

I charge mine every two or three days, turning off internet services etc doesn't seem to make much that difference to worry about it. I turn my Cellular Data option off if Im not using it, but tend to keep wifi turned on so its ready for use on my home network.

The battery is very good in my opinion, and as long as the iPad is locked not in use the battery will last longer, trying to squeeze a little longer out of it by disabling stuff is a bit pointless in my opinion.

Yeah, pretty much the same here, I've knocked the brightness down to less than 50% which seems to help quite a bit in terms of life. What really chews through it is watching catchup tv with the volume right up so I can watch tv while in the kitchen :)

Cool ok. I'm actually quite enjoying it! GTA china town is awesome!! I'm in NZ now but all my cards are still registered in the uk. Means I can't use them in the NZ app store so I'm stuck using the UK store as it keeps redirecting me to the UK one and won't allow me to access the nz one :(

I have the 32Gb wifi version and in terms of standby, if it's at 100% the night before, after I get back from work the next day and it's been locked for the duration, it rarely falls below 99%.

I rarely find myself charging less than every 2-3 days unless with heavy usage such as using Zumocast to stream videos or using youtube a lot. The 10 hours is about right.

3G is a different situation though as I presume just like phones, if the signal is not too good this will drain battery life faster.
