Hi guys

I have just managed to get my hands on a 4th Gen iPad Retina 32GB for a very good price but am considering flipping it to get a 3G one to reduce the frustration of tethering.

What I would love to know is whether anyone tethers (hotspot) to a non-iOS product. I currently have an HTC Evo 3D on Android and would like to know how stable hotspotting is.

I currently use my Nexus 7 with the hotspot and the only issue I have is that the phone seems to go to sleep and shut off the hotspot even though I have told it to leave wifi open.

Thanks :)

Tethering with the HTC One is as easy as it was with my iPhone 4. Whilst tethering is on, there is always a connection to both the iPad, and the network, even if the screen has been off for an hour. :)

I use my Samsung Galaxy S2 to tether to my ipad 3.

Works great but did have to rename the default wifi name for the phone first. The ipad wouldnt connect with the default S2 name, maybe something Apple put into ios.

No problems whatsoever.
