Hi
Out of interest has anyone tried a £15 All you can eat data payg sim in an iPad? Does Three block it? Also does the personal hotspot feature work with it in as well?

I use the £15 all you can eat data on the new ipad, Im unsure if the personal hotspots work tho, I have not tried them.

Ts extremely unlikely you will use that much dat, be cheaper to use threes pre paid sims.

3Gb/3month ~£12 cheapest way for most people
12GB/12month ~£50 for incredibly high usage.

For £10 a month a Giffgaff SIM will get you unlimited data and texts and 250 minutes...

Although now I see it's an iPad, I guess the minutes probably isn't a concern!

And if they see you using it on iPad they'll block you and lots of people have been.

That gift gaff sim are for phones only. If you want one for tablets, you should get the data only sim cards, which are far more expensive.

I'm curious about this too, I could do with more than the 3gb per 90 days so I can watch a gp or sky go.

Does anyone know if I can start the 90 day sims off in one iPad and then put it in a replacement? My iPad has to go back but I want to use the data up first.

Yeah, it's not tied. It runs out after 3GB or 3months. Even if you use it up in 1.5months it's still cheaper.
Not sure what skygo uses, but Iplayer and Netflix uses surprisingly little.

I watched the gp on Xbox sky go and it used over 3 gig, not sure what it would be on the iPad? I'm regretting not buying the pad from three on a plan as you got 15gb per month for 2 years for £230 on top of the cost of the pad :(

Well the 3Gb/3 month is great if you're not streaming hours of video! If you want to do that you'll need a proper unlimited tariff as you say.

I stream a fair bit and it's not an issue. All depends on the usage but you maybe surprised. I use Netflix at work fairly often and 3gb still usually last two months. I certainly wouldn't sign upto anything more than a 30day contract until you get some real idea how much you use.

Also interesting thread in mobile phone section, three may be throttling now.
