iPhone 11 in 2022 (decided on iPhone 13)

Have decided to wait it out until iPhone 15 as wasn't really impressed with the new 14 models. So I have been deciding to get an iPhone SE to tide me over for 12-18 months. Then, it turns out that the iPhone 11 is priced very similarly to the SE 2022 - even cheaper at some places. Any thoughts about it in 2022? Will it play nicely with iOS 16?

This might be a stupid question but any retailers that have this in stock, it will be an unopened brand-new product still and not refurb (unless it specifically says so)?

If it was me I would look at the Apple certified refurbished store - they come with a brand new shell and battery, as well as full warranty. Indistinguishable from a new phone other than the box it comes in.

Thanks, I didn't even consider that.

Looking at those it seems the only real difference is 64GB for £429 elsewhere vs 256GB for £499 for iPhone 11.

The 11 is a great phone, better than my phone (XR). At £429 it’s fair.

I think the current sweet spot for those not after all the bells and whistles is the 11 at £429 or the 13 at £729. The higher resolution OLED screens on the 13 are much nicer on the eye than the 11s screen. But I wouldn’t say it was worth upgrading from the 11 to the 13.

I have decided to never change phones (unless) software isn't supported. This means with the iPhones I should be able to have an iPhone for 5-6 years (as long as I don't smash it) between upgrades. This way I get 2-3 years of a SIM FREE tarrif at 1/5 of the cost.

I'm on an 8 64GB model atm, no scratches at all and it's in perfect condition still after all this time. I have replaced the battery once in these years from it been released but no biggy.

An iPhone 11 should get updates for another 2-3 years easy so it's worth it at £429.

I've only recently stopped using an 11 Pro Max until last month and that's only because work bought me a 13 Pro. I was planning on using the 11 for at least another year minimum.
The 11 series are still brilliant phones.

My 7 is still fine, but I’m not exactly a Power User.

Yeah nor me. I use mine as a phone :), a radio and a satnav and it does all of those perfectly well, so I'm in no hurry to buy another one. I only upgraded from the 6s cos I fancied a bigger phone, not just a bigger screen, I have large hands and can find smaller phones fiddly.

I do have one issue, I live right at the edge of mast coverage so calls often flip between mobile signal and WiFi calling. My other half's 12 does this very well whilst mine sometimes drops calls. Not really a big problem as I have a land line. Hoping this one lasts until I get one with USB C without spending the best part of a grand.

After a ton of chopping and changing I've settled on an iPhone 13 but paying monthly contract instead of buying it outright. Problem now is I can't decide on whether to go mini or normal iPhone 13! I love the size of my iPod touch which is what I take with me on running sessions, I can barely feel it in my pocket. The mini might be the perfect replacement.
