So I've got an iPhone 11 Pro whose battery health has gone below 80% and it now says 'Service' and says it is significantly degraded.

However it's still saying peak performance capability and it gets through a full day for me still.

How low would people leave it until getting a new battery installed? Phone is in perfect condition otherwise and I see no reason to upgrade it.

Only thing to bear in mind is as the battery ages, it can start to swell (aka outgassing, the chemical reacion used to generate power doesn't complete properly).

If this happens you'll more than likely notice the screen will start to seperate from the chassis and can cause unrepairable damage. Considered dangerous too.

About 3 or so years ago pre pandemic I went to Apple for a bettery replacement and from memory they were charging £89. May be worth checking out if you're happy to keep on using your existing phone

Still £89, I’d just go that route as well to be honest.
