It’ll still be learning/updating. Your 12 had months of updating to get it spot on.
You got screen protector on yours ?Nope
No. Why would I ? Gorilla glass is bomb proof.
What case you afterNo I have a case. And I hate it. But the case I want isn’t in stock yet.
I’ve just set it up again fingers crossedA work colleague had this on one of their old phones. He just deleted his face and went through the process to re-learn it and then it was perfectamundo.
I think it has effected the performanceThey've combined the dot projector and flood illuminator into a single unit on the 13 so it's at least possible this hardware change has resulted in a slight difference in performance.
I've not had any problems with mine.
Have you a screen protector.I restored my phone from my 11 pro and it reset the face id anyway. Sounds like you may have a faulty phone.
Out of interest have you a screen protector? The FaceID on my 13 Pro Max is very slightly less reliable than on my 12 Pro Max. I’m going to give it a little more time to ‘learn’ though.
I do, i'm using the Spigen EZ Fit tempered glass protector. I have always found them to be the best. It’s definitely not that though, as the protector goes around the camera/FaceID module perfectly.
I actually reset FaceID and did the scans again, holding the phone in a more natural position the second time and it now seems to be working as it should. I think I may have held it a little too far away when I did the initial scans.
Personally I think it a bad moveI agree, it does seem slightly more distance sensitive than previous FaceID models. I’ve actually had them all: X, XS Max, XR (current work phone), 11 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max. The flood illuminator and dot projector are now in a single module.
YupBlame all the morons foaming at the mouth over the size of the 'notch' for that one.
The problem isn’t the shattering though, it’s the scratches. Without a screen protector they get ruined with fine scratches everywhere.
