iPhone 18 / Pro / Pro Max / Fold

I feel like this is exactly where I am, I actually pre-ordered a 17 PM but then cancelled it as I just got caught up in the hype. My phone struggles for nothing, and it's been kept in a case the whole time so is still fairly pristine. Likely to be tempted again in September but it will have to have some outrageous exclusive features I think.

I used to be on Android and would upgrade a lot more regularly - not sure if its the Apple phone being better for a longer period of time, or just me being more sensible with my money that has kept me on the same phone for nearly 3 years

I have always been doing a 4 year cycle with the iPhone (1 - 4 - 6 - XS - 14 Pro). I think that is the sweet spot for features and cost when spread out.

I used to upgrade every other generation. First iPhone was the 3G so I always ended up missing the 'S' phones. Then when the Apple Upgrade Plan released with the 7+ I did the annual updates with 7+ > 10 > XS Max > 11 Pro Max > 13 Pro > 14 Pro. Have been on the 14 Pro since release and while I would like to return to the 'Max' and have USB C charging, I've just enjoyed having the extra money in my pocket even more.

I could probably skip the 18 Pro as well but I am really tempted by the Fold as long as the price is right. I'm now happy with waiting 3-4 years between upgrades so as long as the Fold doesn't have any nasty surprises/issues I can see myself going that route.

I'd be very surprised if the fold falls below £1999 - My guess is £2099 but only time will tell

I was hoping it would be between 1800-2000. If I can trade in my 14 Pro and my 12.9 iPad Pro, which is a few years old now, and 'only' have to pay ~£1300/1500 I'd likely make the swap.

I hope your range is where it comes out, however #appletax :(

I can't see myself jumping over £2000 unless I manage to get a lot more than I expect for my devices.

I don't really need a big iPad, all I use it for is watching content on I don't really even use it that much around the house. A foldable phone is much more useful to me as my phone is basically by me 90% of the time instead of wondering where I left the iPad

They would be smart not to cross the psychological £2k barrier for the base storage model, looking at the competition as well being around £1300-£1800
