iPhone 2G headphone adapter

Anyone got any recommendations for a headphone adapter for an iPhone 2G? I have a nice pair of CX300's, but the obviously don't fit. I brought a Griffin adapter a few months ago, but they broke after 2 month use - not impressed :mad:

Don't want to spend the earth (and I'd rather not get a new pair of headphones).

The Shure Music Phone Adapter is pretty good: the long cable, mic & button are a plus in my books.

You can get gold plated ones off the high street for 3-5 squids

Not really interested in something too cheap (i.e. ebay) - the Griffin is only ~£6 and broke after 2 months!

Any specific recommendations? I'll check out the high street next time I go into town.

Bad luck

I am tempted to go about trimming my CX300s, but would like to try another adapter first I think.

I did look at the Shure adapter, but it's overkill for what I want. However, if they're the only decent quality one then I might have to. However for the price I might as well look at headphones that fit the socket properly and be done with it!

Can you not just use a needle file and shave the edge of the connector until it fits?

You can get CX300s for about £15 or less online.

Cut them.

I trimmed them as well. Adapters are a hassle.
