Hi All

Right, hopefully someone can help me before i throw my iPhone out the window as im seriously getting pi**ed off with it now!!

I was running version 1.1.4, jailbroken, on the original 02 sim, very happily until the other night when i was upgrading a software package from installer....the iphone crashed and would not boot up again

As a last resort i was forced to upgrade to Firmware 2.1 as the phone was pretty much dead

I now want to revert back to 1.1.4 as i can seem to jail break 2.1 with the latest version of ZiPhone and not matter how many tutorials i follow on WinPWN i keep getting Error message 20 or 6 when i try to install a custom firmware

Does anyone have any ideas??

Very annoyed and running out of patience

Nick

anyone have any ideas?

i reinstalled the firmware about 6 times last night, each time trying to either downgrade to 1.1.4 or try to create my own custom firmware using winpwn but keep getting errors, mainly error 6

i thought i was as i was following a tutorial but after some more digging it looks like my phone wasnt in the correct mode as it had the connector and itunes logos on the screen....i think the screen has to be blank??

thats the confusing thing as the itunes connect symbols are on the iphone but itunes has detected a phone in recovery mode and must be restored before you can use it with itunes??

im guessing the wrong kind of recovery mode??

am i right in saying that to get it into the right recovery mode you have to power the phone off, then hold down power and home button, then release power and keep the home button pressed down???

also if the above is correct do you do this when the phone is docked with the computer or not docked?

Many thanks
Nick

Just managed to get the correct recovery mode, just WinPwning it now, so far so good

might even try restoring to 1.1.4 but will make sure this works first!

Many Thanks for your help

Nick
