iPhone 3G - Beeps during call?

Hi,

During some calls, I get a double beep noise, as if someone else is trying to call me? Is that what this means? I can no longer hear the other person, but yet the call duration continues. Can I have two calls on the go and keep one person on hold?

Also does the iPhone hang up after an hour as a default? because it just did this!

yes if other people call you will see the options on the screen such as hang up current call and accept new one, ignore new one etc... - this is what the double beep is telling you

i have heard that before about hanging up after an hour, probably incase you've left a call going by accident, but i'm not 100% on whether it is genuinely the case...

Yeah, it beeps if you're on the phone for an hour. I guess it's some kind of cost warning.
