I'm looking to buy an FM radio receiver for my iPhone 3G and eBay appears to have two types, has anyone tried either of them?

Both are the same price. I'm leaning toward the black one as it's smaller and I'll probably only listen to one station anyway so the remote is a bit pointless.

I'd get the white one (maybe in black if poss) as I think I'll end up snapping the first one by catching it in my pocket / sitting down.

one thing to note, make sure whatever you buy is specifically for the 3G cuz afaik accessories/chargers/etc. aren't compatible :(

There is a problem with devices that use the firewire pin to charge, as the iPhone 3G doesn't support this. Apart from that everything should be compatible.

thats what i thought but when i've put my iphone into the speaker units (for example) at the apple store the screen says "iphone not compatible with this device" (or something along those lines...)

also, the iphone doesnt work with things like car stereos whereas the ipod 5g is fine...

all a bit annoying really...

I've seen that on a speaker dock. I just clicked the message and continued using the iphone in the dock. It worked just as it should've done. Now maybe it wasn't charging or something, but the speaker dock worked just fine.
