iPhone 3G poor WiFi reception

The WiFi range on my iPhone seems pretty pants, have been comparing it to an iPod touch and also to a 3GS and both seem to have much better range/signal strength. I already had my iPhone replaced due to dust under the screen and the new one performs exactly the same as the old, is this normal or am I just unlucky enough to get 2 iPhones with poor WiFi?

i find my 3gs more problematic than either 2g or 3g but what distance are you talking but im still happpy just have a cold spot in bedroom using wifi on 3gs that wasnt there with earlier models and other than that and occasional reknew lease on it is really quite good.

but what distance are you talking walls/radiatos bath tubs in the way etc...
