iphone 3g repair fail

Lucky me got given an iphone with a broken screen, so I ordered the new one. It arrived in the post today.

Completely took it apart, was separating the lcd and digitizer+glass..................................CRACK! lcd is now split!


gutted is about the only word I can use right now..................

I did a similar thing except I broke one of the connectors. I couldn't be bothered to try and fix it so I eBayed the broken iPhone and got about £80!

Yep did the exact same thing trying to remove dust that had gotten inside mine, bent the LCD screen and that was that - half the display gone into a rainbow mess.

I replaced the smashed glass on my wife's old 3GS, and it went without a hiccup.

Destroying the LCD sounds like fun though
