Iphone 3G start up problem !

Hi , i have the 3g version and it is on 3.1.2 software , it has run pefectly for 3 Months like this but now it just sits there with the apple logo showing and also cant be seen by itunes. Any ideas , i have tried holding buttons in and such like, it will turn off by holding in the top button but when it comes back on again its the same persistent apple logo and nothing else !

Sounds pretty broken to me, you've tried the obvious stuff that I'd go for.

If iTunes isn't even seeing that it's connected then I'd book an appointment at a Genius Bar and get the experts to look at it.

Hi , yeah was thinking as much, is it £146 for a swap out or can they be fixed for whatever the component damage comes too plus labour ?

I don't know, I've only ever seen them do swapouts in store.

Hi ,just an update , i managed to force a recovery on the phone by holding down the home for 10 seconds from the off state, whilst plugging in a cable which was already connected to the pc, itunes needed to be already running, had to upgrade to 3.1.3 but at least the phone works !
