My iPhone 3GS has started crashing, the screen just has a ghost affect of whatever i was doing at the time, when i try turning it back on it just gives the low battery symbol, if i plug it into somewhere to charge it switches straight on and says its got loads of charge. If i don't use any of the apps it never seems to run out of battery and lasts for ages. I've recovered the phone but still get it.
I've only really noticed it over the last month or so, thinking it might be something to do with one of the iphone updates but i know i cannot downgrade to try.
I have the crash reports but have no idea what i am looking for in them, i was hoping it'd at least tell me what app is causing the issue but it doesnt.

I don't want to jailbreak the phone as it's officially unlocked to all networks and don't want to somehow screw that up
Any ideas?

This happens to mine as well, the phone can be anywhere from 20-60% battery and launching certain apps or doing something will just kill the phone.

Mine will turn back on after this crash and function but it is really annoying, I found it to be more frequent when the phone was almost at full capacity but it still happens when there is space available.

Camera is the one that kills mine the most.

I've put up with it long enough that I'm getting an iPhone 5.

Iphone 5 will be the next phone for me, just rather keep this until all the inevitable problems with the iphone 5 have been ironed out.
Least i'm not the only one getting the problem with it switching off!

I always assumed it was just the battery dying. Interesting that it can be replaced so cheap. Might give it a go when my new phone arrives.
