My 3gs is only 3 months old, and the home button doesnt work every press, its also not very button like, it doesnt click or feel like a button being pressed. I rang apple and have book an appointment at my local apple store, has anyone experienced anything like this? do you think they will repair a button that only works when one side is being pressed in a certain way?

Kind Regards, Dan

My iPhone4 has started doing this and it's so annoying. I can feel it "click" every time but it often takes three presses to respond. I'm guessing it's a hardware issue and not software as it would be more common if it was the latter.

Anyone got theirs replaced for something similar?

After a few drops of my old 3G it became an issue, I'm not sure if the 'click' device becomes dislodged slightly and doesn't response as well when you click down on the plastic indented button, same issue regardless of generation.

Had same issue with mine, sent it back and they didnt want to know. Apple said it passed their tests and that was good enough for them!

Eventually got it replaced at an Apple store.

Its a button fault not a software fault and it gets worse and more annoying the longer it goes on.

My 4 developed this fault after about 6 months, I had to get it replaced by Apple. It worked fine, then was really bad, then fine again, it was all over the place. Apple were really good about it too.

I paid £36 (I think) They sent a new phone (refurb, but as new) by courier the next day and took my old one away. Easy as pie!

I could have done it for free but it took a week.
