iPhone 3GS Jailbreak quick question

Hi Peeps,

Just looking for some advice, my brother has inherited an iPhone 3GS it's running iOS 4.0.1 and is currently Jailbroken

I want to upgrade his iOS to 5.0.1 I have saved the SHSH Blobs to Tiny Umbrella and created a backup in iTunes.

Can I just go ahead and install the official 5.0.1 and then re-jailbreak?

Any thoughts and opinions welcome.

What about preserving the baseband? The device will need to sim unlocked after the JB otherwise his sim won't work. If I don't preserve the Baseband will it still be possible to unlock it Ultrasn0w?

I am not 100% sure how to preserve the baseband but will do a quick google search

No I didn't, as I wasn't sure if that is a big deal or not, thanks for the information though. I don't think it would effect the unlock if I didn't preserve the baseband. It would be just a bonus.

Use Beta4 of Redsn0w?

So I should install the official firmware through iTunes and then use Redsnow Beta4 to JB?
