Currently with T-Mob and contract is ready for renewal but am tempted with going to another provider but not sure which of these two bad boys to go for; the Samsung or iPhone....

On one hand I think the Omnia HD with native support for Divx, etc without converting will be a god send but then on the other I love the idea of unlimited internet use with the iPhone on O2 compared to just 500Mb on Orange....

Which would you go for and why?

(Dons: I wonder if this might be worth turning into a poll perhaps?)

I'd go for the Omnia HD. If they were a similar price it would be more difficult, but I take enough photos on my phone to justify the better camera. I also multitask on my phone a lot, which I would find hard to give up.

You're correct, the i8910 has DivX certification. It's 16:9 OLED screen is also wonderful for watching video on.

What phone you choose comes down to personal preference though.

I went for the I8910, and love it.

They're two similar, but completely different phones. The iPhone has below average hardware, but a great design and OS backing it. The samsung has top of the range hardware, with a good OS, not as good as Apple's, but still a very good one.

For the best part the Iphone 3GS doesn't have below par hardware...it's damn good!

Both phones use the same CPU and amount of RAM but the i8910's screen is in a different class to the iPhone. I haven't seen any sample photos from the new iPhone but the average 8MP cameraphone beats the average 3MP cameraphone in image quality. Without a flash of any kind, I can't see the iPhone 3G S taking great indoor photos.

I had the i8910 and the os imo is a pain-in-the-butt and the OLED even though amazing indoors was just grey and washed-out in the open air. I sent mine back and still using and prefer the iPhone.

The wife was given the Samsung as her new work phone and promptly sent it back.

The OmniaHD would be great with Android but Symbian.....argh.

She just hated having menus within menus to do the simplest of tasks, and having to press 'yes' about 9 times when installing an app is just plain stupid.

The OLED, while nice was not as good as some people are shouting about and when out and about just looks like any other screen.

I'd be going for the iPhone personally.
