Thinking of getting a 16GB one of these, but the contracts seem a rip off!

Can I buy one on PAYG, and use another O2 SIM card in the handset? I might get a O2 Simplicity contract along with the PAYG handset.

£440 + 18*20 = £800
£186 + 18*34.50 = £805ish

Don't do it on the price grounds...

Edit: Even tho I agree the mins/texts for what your paying should be far more :/

I agree, although you can get about £50 cashback using quidco when you order the phone and sim seperate..

I did it for the flexibility, not being tied into a 18/24 months contract.. I can cancel tomorrow and sell the 3GS on ebay.. Or go to one of the other providers if I want to.

O2 Pay and Go, 12 months Free web and wifi bolt on sim, way to go imho. :)
Can be had on the bay for less than a tenner with £10 credit. (Not all the free web wifi sim cards have the £10 credit on.)

The simplicity route is a far better deal for minutes and texts, especially if you choose a data bolt that can be included with the plan.

Same reason for me. Not being tied down for more than 30 days and still getting a good amount of minutes and texts as well as "unlimted" data.

What do you miss out on if you buy the 3gs pay and go?
Any features? Isn't the web-bolt on only around 200mb, thus using youtube/web a lot you will go over that easy

I'm getting simplicity because I don't want an 18 or 24 month contract - I'm leaving UK in March next year too.

I have 2 contracts already with Vodafone, plenty of minutes + texts between those.

That's what I did too. Ordered Wednesday, arrived today. Should have arrived Friday but UPS mis-routed it.

I haven't bothered with Simplicity though. Just staying on standard Pay&Go for now. I can always switch to Simplicity later if it works out cheaper.

PS - £15 cashback from Apple too.
