I have an iPhone 3GS that I don't use a phone anymore but use as an mp3 player for the car journeys to and from work.

Over the past 2 weeks I've noticed a slight bulging at the back and what appeared to be a water mark inside the screen.

My iPhone now looks like this:

This has happened on it's own. What the hell. It is now in a plastic container in the metal shed outside.

What do I do?

Is there any chance Apple with fix it or maybe replace it with an iPod?

I'm well aware it is out of warranty but this is dangerous.

It's normal if the battery is consumed, rather it expand than leak, take it in, you never know they may swap it for you.

This looks a bit like what a lot of the first gen ipod nanos were doing and apple replaced all of them so you never know they might give you a replacement.
