Hey guys, finally got my IP4 sorted & unlocked from o2 the other day, now its all up and running as I want it, all working fine, except one strange thing, I have it on all day every day, charged overnight, normally at about ~45% after 18 hours on and maybe 1-2 hours usage, which is fine, but yesterday I took it off, 100% 8am, went to work, by the time I left at 4:30, after maybe 15 mins usage during that time, it was on 6%! Its looking the same way today, down to 53% already, just makes no sense! I have Data & 3g on in sbsettings, wifi off, data roaming off, no hardcore addons from cydia or anything like that, just sbsettings, few five icon/infini addons for springboard and openssh (now also turned off).

If I'm at home its fine, took it home last night, charged to about 75% , made a few calls, went to bed 6 hours later with it on about 60% at lowest!

Any ideas what could be causing it, the phone feels a bit warmer to the touch here, too, and its just baffling at it literally eating the battery at over 10%/hour on standby!

Any help/insight would be appreciated!

Also: Anyone know an app that gives you a good graph of your local wireless coverage, something similar to netstumbler for the pc?

Thanks! :D Sorry for the rant!

That isn't right, mine is sat at 36% left after being on for a day and 5 hours and counting with over 5 hours of usage, including gaming texting facebooking etc.

Something is deffo wrong with your handset and should get it looked at. It shouldn't be getting warm to the touch on the back of the phone either.

Its not had the issue since its been jailbroken, just this week at work!

At home it gets 2-3 times the usage, and the battery is normal, after 18 hours and lots of usage, its really odd, no idea whats going on!

Yeah, the warmishness is wierd, as said didn't do it last night or any other time, will see how things go, might plop 3g off here, see what happens.

Think I have found out what the problem is now, to a degree, it seems to be the adsheet process that runs in the background after running many apps, seems to always be connected, and when you're on 3G it seems to absolutely eat the battery, last night at home the phone on stadnby moved maybe 1-2% an hour, here at work this morning, its down to 81% within 90 mins of being unplugged, and the adsheet process was visible in the background...

hmmm

being as its jailbroken look at the processes app for sbsettings, might let you kill it off if your not using it.

and as mentioned dropping 3g off if your not using it is worth it.

Yeah, thats what I'm using, but forgot it came on this morning with either the Sickipedia app or pingchat!

Having turned it off and left 3g on battery usage is now "normal".

I found mine was using more battery while network was set to "auto". Being on t-mob and constantly checking Orange for signal to make sure I was getting the best of the 2 seems to kill the battery!
