I did a system restore because my iPhone was playing up, i went into settings-general and then restore. My iPhone then turned off and on and then displayed the Apple logo for a while then turned off. this went on for around 10 hours. I then put it into recovery mode and connected to itunes. iTunes tried to restore and update and got 99% through and then said that it couldn't do it and my phone just displayed the apple logo and has been doing so for the past 30 hours. It hasn't been rebooting at all and even holding sleep and home buttons for any amount of time doesn't work. I can't even put it into recovery mode and iTunes doesn't recognise it. I was on 4.1 BB 02.10.04 and it was jailbroken with Greepois0n which has proven reliable to me in the past and i have been able to reset without problems.

I bought my iPhone from a huge retailer who are a US company. (can't say - forum rules) Should i return it to them?

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure that if you Jailbreak your phone then it voids warranty.

Yes, but they have no way of telling it was jailbroken. I asked them at the Apple store and they said that all they would do is refuse me service, but they don't know if it's jailbroken if you restore it.

I tried depleting the battery - but none of the computers recognise it and it doesn't seem to charge anymore - even from the mains

Well if it is truly dead then take it back to them.

The greenp0ison jailbreak is supposed to be fully reversible and thus whatever has caused this probably isn't related.

Give the Apple store a whirl?

I'd rather return it to shop i bought it from as i want a refund so i can buy an unlocked phone - this one was locked to o2 and they said it was unlocked so they gave me £35.

Just for reference I wouldn't do a system restore on a JB iPhone, it screwed up mine just like yours did except I managed to restore it to non-JB firmware eventually.

youve got more chance getting blood from a stone than you do of getting a full refund

just take it to the apple store and get it fixed , i had nearly an identical issue and it restored the first time they tried :/ despite me not being able to restore it on 3 different computers

apple stuff is worldwide swop warranty,, EXCEPT iphones

you need to run tiny umbrella and boot it out of restore its a common problem and greenpoison works well usually... so i dont think it related... just a hiccup

even if you take it to apple they cant tell its been jailbroke if you restored and it hangs at the end.. they dont really care they will help but if its usa i dont think they will..

good luck or you need to post it to someone who can help you
