My sister has a white iPhone 4. The casing is in really bad condition so I saw you can get 'colour conversion kits' on Amazon.

We know someone who can replace the covers and does a good job, however I'm worried about the digitizer with it being a 3rd part one.

Will the iPhone preform just as good?

This is what she was going to get for it:

Thanks

Looking horrendous aside, it likely won't work as well, to be honest.

If she is looking at either upgrading at some point in the near future, she might as well hold off until either the new iPhone comes out, or buy her upgrade now. Another option is the £130-odd to get a refurb replacement from Apple, though that might not be worth it.

Oh yeah the colour is awful but girls have an obsession with pink, you know how it is.

So will it lose a lot of the responsiveness of the screen etc?

Thanks

Again, with the looks to 1 side(holds the sick in my mouth...) I do a fair number of iPhone screen replacements, and they are not always 'Genuine Apple Parts' as advertised, but I can honestly say, I have never had a problem with the digitizer responses once installed a new screen.

I nearly always purchase the glass and LCD together as one, pre-glued combo, just because I dont want the hassle of attempting to detach the old LCD from the old glass. Not to mention it makes the swap over time considerably less. Can 'usually' do an iPhone 4/4s screen replacement in about 25mins or so :)

Cheers mate. Do you think the one from Amazon should be fine then?

I obviously cannot say for 100% certainty that yes it will, but the chances are, they wouldn't be selling them still if they don't work. Check out the reviews if any and see what customers say. It is usually your best guide :)

Worth noting that the display may be a TN panel (as in the iPod touch) as opposed to the IPS panel that comes with the iPhones. The TN panel is still very good, just not quite as good as the IPS. I doubt that your sister would notice a difference, quite honestly.
