Picked my car up and love it! but anyway, not going to start another debate about that!.

Anyway, i'm reading conflicting google results about connecting iphone to idrive bluetooth, some people connecting with older versions, others not connecting with newer versions. Long and short, i go to communication menu and it says please connect telephone - i assume this is discoverable mode?, anyway, i goto bluetooth on iphone and it just searches for ages and finds nothing. Am i doing it right? I know an idrive update costs quite a bit!,alternative is Dension 500 kit.

Also, is there an aux plug in the 2005 E60?

ta very muchly

No there is no aux plug on a 2005 E60. If you want one added the car will need re-coding to accept it at about £200ish plus the cost of the aux port.

I beleive the iPhone 4 is only compatible with later Bluetooth UIM's.

Are you sure the car has Bluetooth telephone preperation?

How would i tell? I assumed so.

bluetooth (whether i have it or not), is not at the pinnacle of importance, if i have it, that's a bonus, i'd like it, but if i don't have it, lets just say i won't lose sleep over it ;). I don't like using phone and driving at the same time anyway so i'd only use it when immobile. It's not like i have to take business calls lol.

Im thinking if parking sensors that are standard were listed as options and Bluetooth wasn't then it isn't fitted. Does it have widescreen nav Wes?

Yes, wide nav and got Bluetooth too, paired up to iPhone no problem this morning. I was looking at wrong menu (communications instead menu in vehicle settings).

Stupid question anyway, can I play music from iPhone via Bluetooth?
