Sadly, two or three days ago my iPhone 4 took an accidental bath in the sink after a terrifying slow-motion plunge and got immersed in water, the phone went a bit crazy until the battery ran down.
Luckily, everything seems to work perfectly now after a few nights in a bag filled with silica gel packets, the only problem i have is the one i mentioned in the title.
Even when the phone is off, the LED flash is on - and has been the case since the phone first hit the water until now, it has never gone off. I have took the phone apart, removed the battery and sadly after plugging it back in the light came straight back on.
I have put two strips of black tape over the flash for now to stop it irritating me, but I really need to try and find a solution.
What I have tried:
Downloading Camera/Flash Apps and turning them On/Off, it just varies brightness, the LED is still always on regardless.
Hard reset
software restore to factory settings
I have no insurance on the phone, and don't feel the fault is serious enough to replace the phone outright.
People of OcUK, can you offer me any assistance? I have no idea what i'm looking for on the innards of the phone, and am frightened to death of causing further problems!
Thanks
