I have had the phone since the 4 first came out, its since i updated to 5.1.1 i think

Take it to the Apple store then to get a replacement.

Have you got a plastic cover on it, if so take it off.

Either take it to an apple store or try restoring to a previous backup and see if it makes a difference.
