Hi guys, I might sound a little naive in what I'm about to ask, but I've never had any Apple hardware (or software) before so would just like to ask a question.

I got a superb deal from O2 for the Apple iPhone 4 16GB which is:

600 minutes, Unlimited O2 to O2 calls, Unlimited texts, Unlimited internet, and the phone for £179.... All for £30 a month (24 months contract), am delighted with this :D

The thing I want to ask though is the 16GB model worth getting as opposed to it's bigger cousin, the 32GB? And are the memory cards changeable? i.e. can I purchase the 16GB model then later swap it for a 32GB card?

I'd most probably have a lot of music on it, around how much you have as I can then play it through my bluetooth system in the car, and of course I would have apps on it the most important one being a satnav (looking at the tomtom or igo)

I got a 16gb I4 thinking it was ample but really I wish i had got the 32 now, down to 3.8 gig and as monkeyspank said LOL great name btw, 720p eats away at it for example a 1.16sec video i have takes 100mb.

yup this was my worry after reading around a bit too. however I just spoke to O2 and they said they will have to cancel my current order first, wait 24 hours for it to confirm it has been cancelled, and then replace my order for a 32GB model tomorrow BUT (and here's the low-blow)... there may be a risk of me not getting the deal I have at the moment again... :(

I agree with Jabbs and Xee entirely. Transferring things to and from my computer and the iphone will help keep it updated and the memory to the max I need. However, there is the resale factor also right? Obviously get a bit more for the 32GB model opposed to the 16GB? Also (to Xee) I thought I was getting a very good deal here but you make it sound like a standard one... :( lol so do you think that if I tell them to cancel my deal at the moment, and replace a new deal for it tomorrow for the 32GB model, I would have a huge chance of getting that deal again...?

If you walk into any O2 store today you will see the same contract in their leaflet. Of course you will need to pay more up front for the 32gb model.

nope, I would really like to know where and how you saw this because the closest deal you would get to this is £35 a month and that's WITHOUT the unlimited O2 to O2 calls. Check it for yourself, I know this is from the website, but it's exactly what's offered on the O2 leaflets and brochures which I am holding and looking at right now also...

So yeh Xee not trying to be rude or patronising or anything just would really like to know which store you saw this at as to my knowledge such a deal is not offered at stores you can get £30 a month but you only get 300minutes and £35 a month gets you 600minutes but then you don't get the unlimited O2 calls. Please enlighten me...

What? What? What.............. Unlimited internet

Didn't think any operators were continuing with this?

Oh and get the 32 Gb... I have the 16 and thought it would be enough.... Nope, close to being full now with songs, apps and videos.... If you can manage you iTunes better then me 16 Gb should be sufficient however if your lazy get the larger one.... either way you wont lose out :p

yup unlimited internet, check their site (or any operators for that matter) and you will see it somewhere either as part of the bundle or an option.

After much deliberation however, I have decided to stick with the 16GB model. I chose this because I will only be using the phone mainly for email, text, some music for my drive to and from work, TomTom, and some applications. At the moment I have a 2GB model (yeh I know lol) and I still have LOADS of room spare on that. Also considering I purchased a new Sony Panoramic HD camera a couple months ago, I don't think I would be picking up my iPhone for pics and videos when I have the cam for this, and IF I do ever spot the odd couple moments I would like to capture, am sure 1GB of space would suffice.

I spoke to my mate (manager in a phone shop) who said it isn't worth it, when it comes to reselling any model, you won't get what you paid for, that's the harsh reality, and when it comes to the end of my contract, I will be trading in for another newer phone anyways (iPhone 5, maybe?! lol). Many of you may disagree with me on this, but hey, if you can get a high end computer and just take 5 minutes of your time once a week take things off your phone you don't need free up the space and save £100 you can spend on accessories or anything else, why not?!

I knew that but I though O2 had stepped in offering it or told you they did so you would sign, still how they can call it unlimited when it isn't is beyond me.

I have no idea but that's what they have offered me and my Mrs has it as well as a couple of mates and they use it to their heart's content lol. But yeah as you said, how they can call it unlimited and then say 'fair usage policy applies' and only offer 1-3GB limit per month

i thought all current "unlimited" deals were coming to an end October and data will be capped at 500mb.

like I said, no idea...wish I knew. The news is in October, we're still in August soooo maybe they're offering it for the time being? Lord knows, think I will contact O2 later on and ask just to make sure but the small print does say 1GB allowance, T-Mobile also offer this

i am currently on "unlimited" internet with my iPhone simplicity deal and it suits me to stay with it. Although i have been told by o2 that come October i will have my internet capped at 500mb as "unlimited" internet will be no more so now it is time to look for a new contract.
i am thinking of moving over to three as they have some great deals at the moment.

my mate is on Three with the iphone, and he ain't happy at all...

btw I do apologise to everyone on here, I just rechecked the site and it is 500mb and unlimited Wi-Fi, I'm guessing 500mb is the data allowance and the unlimited Wi-Fi is the roaming (i.e. for those that are not sure, 500mb is the amount you can download etc. but you can surf the net as much as you like)...am I right guys???

500MB limit over the O2 network, so when you're on a 3G signal etc. Wi-Fi is unlimited - obviously when you're on a home Wi-Fi network, and unlimited through O2 Wi-Fi hot spots, if you can find one.

fortunately for me, that's exactly what I get at home (the home wi-fi that is), and I work at colleges and universities, so I just use their Wi-Fi spots :D :p

edit: btw thanks for the more simpler explanation kidscruff, couldn't have put it better myself!!!
