Hi all, just replaced a cracked screen on an iphone 4 for the 1st time but when i switch it on it has greyish/white lines running vertically down the screen. Is it a faulty screen or do you think i've botched the installation? I've stripped it down and checked the ribbon connectors are firmly attached three times over but still no joy. Please help!!

Did you ever find out what was wrong?

I have the exact same display pattern on my iphone 4. The touch functions function ok. It is the original display and it malfunctioned after i accidentally washed the phone... So did you find out what was wrong with your phone?

Nope, i gave up on the rubbish quality screens they all sell on there, just look for people selling used screens. Better glass, perfect fit and no issues.

The 4s screen came today. Just as i was about to replace the new screen I pealed away the protective covering, one edge of it was stuck to the edge of the mirror type surface, and this mirror surface for want of the proper word ;) started to lift.
I carried on anyway and fitted the screen and when done I switched the phone on and the screen was very dim, it won't light up at all.
Is it a faulty screen? Any ideas and thanks.

...but when i switch it on it has greyish/white lines running vertically down the screen.

One of the screens when fitted has this bar as well going horizontal across the screen.
Starting to think your right about ebay.

Can I ask again any links to buy good iphone screens?
Thanks.

Could someone tell me what went wrong? I followed the tutorial as far as i seen to the letter and it still went wrong.
Any ideas and thanks.

Before

I noticed that the edge of the mirror surface looked a bit rippley before fitted. Dont know if that matters or not!

Hi, Do you think its a faulty screen..again. :(
I was told that the screen was tested and working 100% before it was sent out.
Do you think was it?

Thanks, I thought of Amazon too but I wouldn't know if their screen are any better, how would you know.
That why I ask if anyone bought screens from a good suppler.
I screen you could relay on.
Thanks.

Initially i would say so.

At least with Amazon you 'should' get a better product and a lot more peace of mind should anything go wrong.

Thanks, they cost about the same price on Amazon, around the £25ish mark.
There must be someone on this forum that buys iphone screens from a reliable source..:)
