Like a Muppet I dropped my wife's iPhone4 and cracked the screen on it.

Going to check if it is insured when Orange start taking calls again (message on their call centre saying busy till tomorrow)

But I am looking for a plan B in case it is not insured and that would be taking it to a local repair person you find on the markets.

How much should I reasonably expect to pay to replace the cracked screen on an iPhone4 ?

Does anyone have any recommendations in the Crewe area of someone that could do it while we wait ?

Unsure of cost.

However a couple of potential pitfalls when replacing the screen on an iPhone 4....

The Wifi Capabilities can be killed when re-assembling.
The front camer can also be killed (Small SMD near the connectors is VERY easy to know off)

if you have any sort of display it would be a good idea to make sure you can demonstrate they are working before the repair just in case someone tries to pull a fast one.

Thanks, yes they are integrated lcd / glass too. The screen works fine, just cracked.

Its about a £60 repair in a shop. You will pay less if you know someone who will do it for beer tokens.... part is about 20quid on ebay and 40 for an hours fitting at most places.

Thanks, gives me a ball park to know that I am not getting ripped off.
