Iphone 4, still worth it?

Hi there mac people, my sister got a good deal for an I4 16GB (230 quid) and she want to buy the thing but i strongly advise against it, isnt it a waste of money investing in a 2010 single core phone?
Now, i maybe wrong cause i have never owned an iphone, but is it still OK for everyday usage and then some more in 2013? isnt it slow processing email/social media/maps and stuff like this? please enlighten me

thanks a lot for the help, well she got it just an hour ago and am currently playing with it. 5.1 ios in it and it doesnt feel that slow except when browsing the web which i doubt she will do often...very well built indeed, but performance wise doesn't stand a chance next to my galaxy nexus.

Well she is an architect, looks come before perfomance lol
