Iphone 4 Warranty queries

I currently have a Vodafone contract with an amazing warranty which means that if my phone (currently n900) is damaged in any significant way I get an instant replacement, this is a brand new model (if in stock) or a referb, or in the extremes a new model with similar specs. Origionally I had a Nokia N97 but due to EOLing it I was offered the n900. This warranty costs me £3.50pm and I think it is utterly amazing and really is the only reason I've stuck with vodafone for so long.

However I've fallen in love with an Iphone4 and am currently looking at two options..

£30 a month contract from Three Mobile

or Purchasing an Iphone from the apple store + a Three Mobile £15 pm Iphone sim.

Now if my IPhone were to be damaged (cracked screen/water damage or worse) or stolen/lost what sort of protection would I need to get the exact if not similar benefits that I am getting from my current vodafone warranty?

You won't get anything like the cover you're currently receiving from Vodafone if you buy an iPhone directly from Apple; the warranty only covers technical faults and not accidental damage, loss, theft, etc.

If you absolutely must have the same level of cover, you'd be better off buying the iPhone on contract through Three and taking up their insurance cover. All the relevant info about what's covered and how much it costs is on their website.

However, you might be able to claim for certain scenarios on your home insurance (loss, theft, etc) if you do decide to go direct with Apple and rely on their limited hardware warranty for the rest. I'd check your policy thoroughly though and make sure you're aware of any excess charges and/or increased renewal cost should you have to make a claim.

Ahh thank you, I have looked at their insurance and was hoping that due to the Iphones4 uptake that there would be better insurance out there. Will have to look into the home insurance when the parents are back.
