Hi all,

My iPhone 4 turned off suddenly today even though it had over 50% charge. It won't turn on now even when plugged into my computer or via the wall charger.

Unfortunately the lock button has been stuck for some time so I am unable to do a hard reset.

What are my options?

PS. It's out of warranty.

Have you tried taking the back case off? You can see the lock button when you remove it, so maybe you can unstick it?

Even though it's out of warranty, take it to the apple store, they will most likely fix it foc :)

I'm at work until midnight but when I finish I'll explain a bit more if someone doesn't before me :)

I tried that last night and I couldn't get it working :(

I've booked a visit to the Apple Store so I'll see if they can sort it out. I expect they won't be able to help though :(

there is some process for force a reset,

mine crashed as yours did, it refused to charge and looked totally dead, someone here suggested a hard reset some process of holding down the buttons in some order.. that fixed the issue... have a googe before you go to apple...

My lock button is broken so I can't do that.

Best to take it to the apple store... They may be able to do a hard reset by plugging a cable it to it and sending info to the phone thus negating the need for the lock button to be pressed. On the flip side, they might not be able to do this :/
