Just got the wife an iPhone 4S and looking for a waterproof case. I thought I'd found a perfect one when looking at the Incipio Atlas, but turns out it's only available for the iPhone 5, pooh sticks.

Looked at the Otterbox Armor, but then I see loads of people mentioning it is really hard to hear anything with this case, and people are barely able to hear them. (Obviously basic phone use wasn't covered in case design).

Then looked at Griffin Survivor + Catalyst, but that's only for the iPhone 5... arghhh....

So please... what other options are there that would stop water in the event of dropping the phone in the dogs water pool by mistake for example (I.e. very little time submerged), and it still be usable as a phone?

You can definitely get the Griffin Survivor for the iPhone 4S (I have both). I'd recommend it without hesitation.

Whilst I don't think that is waterproof though, it's one I'm considering. Also looking at the Ballistic HC in that category (looks much slimmer).

Maybe just have to take the risk, and go with a sturdy case as above, (as daughter often nicks the phone!).

I can vouch for the Lifeproof one. I've had mine for about a year, use it regularly on my bike, in the shower, have taken it swimming in the sea, in a waterfall and in a volcanic hot spring. It's waterproof arrright.

Also doesn't make audio worse. It gives slightly more bass if anything, without cutting highs noticeably.

Which is weird, as a lot of reviews say otherwise. Definitely not doubting your review of it... just wondering where all the other one's come from.. perhaps counterfeit?

What do you think about durability for dropping? (We have a little girl that's always nicking it lol).

Update: Temporarily gone with the the Ballistic Hardcore in white/black for the moment until I can find a decent waterproof case. All the reviews seem hit and miss, nearly all mention sound issues.

As said I went with the Ballistic HC case in white and black, and it's doing it's job apparently :-) She did say it's quite manly though lol. Will be looking at slightly more feminine or sporty cases I guess.
