been offered an iPhone 4s for 150, it's my mates who had it on a vodaphone contract.
I currently use a PAYG O2 sim but was considering moving to pay monthly if I'm able to keep my number

how much hassle/expense would it be to get the phone working with my o2 sim ?

You'll have to get the phone unlocked, if your mate has finished the vodafone contract I think (don't quote me) that he can ring up Vodafone and get it unlocked himself for free.

Regarding the sim; you'll need a different kind of sim (a micro-SIM card) again this isn't an issue, ring up 02 and they'll send one for free to you (or you can get your existing sim cut)

Hope that helps

The 8GB model is all that's available now but it was previously available in 16, 32 & 64GB too.

And yes, if your friend's Voda contract is completed then they'll unlock the phone for free.

Your friend has to unlock it himself, you can't and he has to be original contact owner to do so, the 4s is still a good phone and used to come in 16 32 and 64gb.

Pretty sure there are sellers on ebay that will unlock any iPhone. It's not cheap though.

Vodafone unlock for free if it was on contract. The 4S is a little dated though so not sure how great a deal this would be. I am a current 4S owner.

does he just ask vodaphone to unlock it to O2 or will he need any details of mine?
just want to know what details he needs so I can ask him to do it before I get it
