Iphone 5 apn

Hi

My mates just given me an Iphone 5 to sort out for him as he's not that IT literate. The phone was on O2 by the looks of things and now he wants to use T-mobile.

Does anyone have any of the important T-mobile settings please? e.g. mobile data settings.

Is the phone unlocked to any network?

My Phone is unlocked and I changed from O2 to Vodafone, soon as my sim was inserted and phone switched on, Vodafone sent the details down, one text was for the non smart phone and the other was for the iPhone, I did need to connect to my WiFi and downloaded the data that way.

Sorry, forgive my ignorance as this is an Iphone 4s not 5. (I'm a Galaxy user myself).

Anyway, the phone looks like its locked to O2. I've just put in the T-mobile sim and it says its invalid - all the APN settings I put in have concerted back to idata.o2.co.uk etc.

Any ideas? Does it need unlocking or something?

Phone will need to be unlocked in order to use other networks. As you've indicated it was previously with O2, your mate will need to call them and get them to unlock it.

Once that whole process is done, as soon as you put in the TMobile sim and restart the phone, it will setup the right correct settings for the APN itself.

The o2 account holder needs to ring up o2 and ask them to unlock it.
