iPhone 5 battery issues

Hi guys,
I am having battery issues with my iPhone 5 but not the sort of issues that usually occur

Basically the problems start as it reaches less than 20% battery. What happens here is that it randomly starts turning itself off and refuses to switch back on without a charger (eg I turned it off earlier on 4% battery and it refused to power back on, I then plugged the charger in and it instantly came back to life with 10% battery :confused:

)
I also seem completely random drops in battery for example I had it unlocked and just on the home screen earlier and the battery just dropped from 14% to 10% instantly for no apparent reason. :confused:

Anybody got any idea what is going on? cheers

Looks like an appointment with the apple store is due then eh? Annoying as there aren't any available until Saturday

Hmm they reset the phone and told me to come back if the problem persists.

In hindsight I wish I had! I didn't think. I shall return in a few days
