My wifes iphone 5 is just over two years old, it was replaced at some point during the original two years as the original ohone developed a fault with pictures and videos where purple artefacts would be displayed on videos and recorded on videos.

The replacement, which she has likely had eighteen months is now occasionally doing similar.

The main issue currently is the battery life, it just plummets, it completely non-discript and doesnt seem to follow any linear pattern.
It'll die form anything under fifty oercent, but not all the time, just at random.

Sometimes it'll appear to charge very swiftly, percents flying up, and then die after short term usage.

Apple suggested swapping it for the same phone at a cost of £280.
Seems rather excessive.

What other options are available?
Or suggestions people might have?
I checked the inbuilt serial number and it doesnt correspond to the iphone5 battery recall ohines unfortunately.

Very interesting indeed, i knew they overpriced things, but I didn't realise the battery would cost as little as a tenner, might give that a go next week.

Thanks very much for this info.
