I found a bashed up iPhone 5 in my mate's kitchen drawer. He said I could have it. I need the front (screen, touch still works) and back replaced.

Anyone had this done, any good places and what money am I looking at?

You could probably replace the screen and digitizer assembly by yourself if you have the confidence and time to do it (replacement screen/ digitizer assembly ~£20-£30). I replaced my iphone 5 screen by following a youtube tutorial. I'm not too sure how easy it is to replace the back cover though... might be worth getting it all done at a shop if you don't have the time to research it all.

you need to check if is locked to a apple iCloud account first before you wasting money on repairing.

just type in the serial no, or imei no., which can be found on the back.

if is locked then just flop it into ebay and sell as faulty.

People sell second hand phones all the time. Surely it can be unlocked from an icloud account with permission from the icloud account holder?

yes iCloud couldn't unlock without owners logins.

but you said you found it in a drawer, the phone belong to your mate?

Yeah, its my mates. He said that he had any details I might need. I know it's an iphone 5, but he's got a lot of dough. To him, it's like chucking away a Motorola Startac.
