iPhone 5 Sync Issue

A friend of of mine has just informed me of a worrying issue with his phone.

It's a brand new O2 iP5. He was syncing the other day including his notes. It turns out someone else's notes have appeared on his account. He assures me he hasn't given his account details to any one. What is even stranger....one of these acquired notes includes a post code - which he checked and it happens to be in his area. He does not know if the other person can see his notes.

Currently in contact with an Apple engineer in America who is remotely checking the phone. Slightly worrying! Any one ever heard of something like this?

First i've ever heard of anything like this.

Will be interested to hear the outcome though.

Make sure he let's O2 know too...doesn't sound brand new to me.

O2 supplying him with a non-new phone did cross my mind. God they grind my gears, can't wait to leave them

Apple are taking this very seriously and have referred to it as a very serious breach, a possible reason is someone else has some how gained access to his account. The engineer(s) will continue to look at it through to tomorrow.

Syncing Notes via iCloud or IMAP to say Gmail?

It sounds like someone else has access to his account and isn't related to the phone.
