iPhone 5 tethering problem

Before upgrading to iPhone 5 from iPhone 4 I had no problems tethering between the iPhone and my iPad. Since I got the iPhone 5 for the first time I tried tethering but its just not appearing on the iPad or other devices. I ve done the usual resetting of phone and network settings but no joy. Also came across something odd, I tried changing the password on Personal Hotspot but it keeps regenerating new passwords and not remembering the one I entered. I guess this is all connected somehow due to gremlins with ios6

Any suggestions or similar experiences?

I am on the 3 One Plan so it's included, also spoke to customer services and they confirmed everything is ok at their end.

Now the phone won't connect to my wifi at home after resetting network settings, keeps saying password is incorrect!
