iphone 5S - can't use fingerprint

Had a five previously, done an icloud backup on that, and restored to my 5S, however even after updating to iOS 7.01 and adding all my fingerprints, it still asks me to slide to unlock..

Anyone else seen that ? It doesn't seem to want to read my prints... Grrrrrr

complete guess but wouldn't you have to turn it on manually in the settings? Can't see it locking a phone because a fingerprint has been saved to it. Could cause all sorts of situations.

Settings > General > passcode & fingerprint > Enter Pin > Fingerprints

Make sure Passcode Unlock is Green, received mine yesterday and had to enable it manually even after setting up a fingerprint at the start.

yep this is what it was. Took me a little while to figure it out. I guess i was barking up the wrong tree, thinking that my 5 restore was what was causing the problem.

Nope. Wait until the next generation. Pretty much universally agreed there.

For me yes. Cos it looks nicer, has better security, in that i never used the passcode lock before, cos it was too much of a pain and worried if someone else got hold of my phone.. But now I can sleep tight.

Plus cost wise for me. I unlocked my 5 64GB, which i can sell for $450, and i'm only paying $424 for this 5S 64GB.

If it was to actually cost me, say more than $100, i'd probably wait, but given I'm actually set to make a small amount, i'd say DEFINITELY worth it for me.

Also looking at my old 5 now, it looks so out of date.

The 5 felt out of date when it launched anyway, so i'm sticking with it for another year and hope Apple finally change the phone's shape. Doesn't need a bezel that big in this day and age.

5S will prob be the last Jobs'ish phone out.

Oct 14, given the pattern.. They may force an update sooner, depending on the competition, if that's the case, then perhaps June14.

They're going to be struggling soon as to what to add.

The 6 wont be out until next september seeing as the 5s has only just come out, they will most likely be announcing a new iPad and possibly refreshing the macbooks in October

Edit: just reread and im guessing you meant next October.
