Hi all

Have a 5S at work that's had a hard life and now the battery won't hold charge for more than a couple of hours. I bought a kit online (with all tools) to change it, £8.

Easy enough job, but after the change I'm now seeing horizontal flashing/flickering white lines. Reading around this is a connection problem from the back of the screen itself (ribbon cables pushing the rear of the screen), not the digitizer. I have these exact symptoms. Holding the screen at 90 degrees to the body (gap/distance between ribbon cables & pressure on connection) the lines go away. I've tried many different bits of paper between the various ribbons and chip (scroll down to last comment on the thread). All to no avail...

Is it worth forking out for a replacement screen on this or just recycle the phone and source another? Me replacing the battery was a last ditch attempt to avoid doing so! ;)

No feedback?

Had a quote for £150 to fix so we're replacing it with an android.

Only leaves 2 apple devices in our company, we originally had 6 but they've dropped like flies the last few years! No Apple product seems made to last more than 3-4 years max! It's expensive to replace them with such a short lifecycle, so they've been replaced by cheaper Samsung devices which last longer. Shame really!
