iPhone 6+ bendgate issue.

I see in all these tests the iphone6 is weaker than the 6+. Has there been any reported iphones 6 bending in pockets or normal use? and am not talking about people breaking their phones to prove it bends

My iPhone 6 has been in many "squashed in the pocket" situations that would be expected of a phone without actually sitting on it. Straight as the day it came out of the box and I expect it will be in two years time too.

Still see this as a non-issue. I know that will rile some people up who have been affected, but you or the people you know have obviously just been unlucky.

While a really minor number, I know of 7 people with a 6+ including one who wears the most ridiculously tight jeans I've ever seen, and not one of them are the slightest bit affected by this problem. My 6 spends 90% of its time in my jeans pocket, and because I have larger legs, my jeans tend to get very tight sometimes around the pocket, and still it remains completely straight.

It does seem a bit odd as we've had real world reports of the opposite, best guess would be when they were testing in the lab they weren't doing it at the weak point of the 6+

Apple are certainly not known as a producer of ruggedized devices, and people needing such devices should generally look elsewhere (e.g. http://www.blugga.com/2011/05/26/casio-gzone-commando-%E2%80%93-a-very-resistant-smartphone/). Yet both the 6 and 6+ can be made much stronger by using certain cases.

What a idiotic comment to make, seriously.

No-one has ever expected that from apple(or any other manufacturer for that matter) However bending / signal drops if held wrong / screens falling off / overheating and melting...etc (I'm using some past examples here) Would have been discovered through constant day to day use during a product testing phase.

I know 2 people with this phone, both have bent, problem clearly a lot bigger than people 7 worldwide then brush it under the carpet.

They can make some great products, but they need to be dropping a little bit of profit and making sure the items are built a little better.

Has anyone on here who's got even the slightest bend taken the phone into an Apple store yet?

If not, why the hell not?

If so, what happened?

Because only a fraction of those who have bought a phone are seeing the problem.

True we've only had a relatively small number of people complaining but it would only be bad luck if the fault is with a small portion of the handsets (i.e. a bad batch) or the user accidentally used too much force at some point. The number of people complaining is not a good metric to base a conclusion on, I had a Note 2 which started to suffer from SDS, it wasn't bad luck it was just bad design on Samsung's part.

My concern is that it's simply bad structural design on the handset, if that's the case then luck really isn't a factor. Right now we've got some saying they've had zero issues with skinny pants and we've got others saying it's practically deformed out of the box and it'd be nice to get some clarity either way.

How immature to place all these faults under a common denominator, when the current discussion is entirely about a perceived stuctural weakness of the 6 and 6+. I have a 6+ which I treat in the same way as my previous 4s and it has not bent, and I do not expect it to bend anytime soon. Many people, myself included, prefer a thin and light phone which they treat with some care to a ruggedized one, but each to their own...

To be honest I still think the old iPhone 3G was the nicest to hold in your hand. :p

For those considering the 128gb iPhone 6 over the 64gb...I would say go for it unless you plan to keep a small amount of music/videos on your phone. I wouldn't even bother considering the 16gb in any of the new iPhones.

You need a flat surface and a torch to tell that my 6+ is bent so not serious enough an issue to bother returning it - especially as I like the phone.

It came out of the box like that so can't even be sure the next one wouldn't be the same.

It hasn't gotten any worse yet but it's still early days.
