They are distributed out to sales, power users and developers so they are handled more than Joe bloggs with his in a case. They aren't however manhandled in anyway (we've not had any issues with previous versions for example).
You are kidding right? Clearly you don't work in enterprise. We probably spend around £1.5/2 million with them per year (and this is one company out of a group of 8 under 1 big arm) spread over hardware and software. Heck I still have production Xserves in the DC that we need to migrate off. I would fully expect Apple to replace the units no questions asked. In fact they should be bending over backwards not flat out denying there is any kind of issue and telling us to do one.
Really should check your past postsSorry is that directed at me? If so get back in your cage
I will try and get some pics today. We are upgrading the phones in the company and the power users have a choice of the 6+, Note 3/4 or something equivalent. I was very tempted by the 6+ (I have a Note 3 personally). We don't care who the manufacturer is but it needs to stand up to being used on the road and manhandled, the sales and developer guys are a bit ruthless.
Really wish the fanboism would stop, its clearly an issue and you can put your fingers in your ears all you want but its a manufacturing fail.
Managed to get some better pics before I take it back tonight. From general Googling etc. it seems very unlikely to be replaced, absolutely ridiculous!
The gap is pretty substantial, I can get a finger nail in there. Only a matter of time before dust/moisture gets in there and I have a £700 brick.
Really should check your past posts
How exactly did they all get bent?!
Not surprised they told you to do one as 7 phones damaged sounds suss.
Ditching all your Apple products because of this seems quite petty and a childish overreaction.![]()
The forums are full of complaints, it is not just me
And for the record I actually have to get permission to put any pics up, I can't just snap it and upload it.
Don't think you can call anyone a fanboi for doubting your story. Go read your past posts.Err because
1) Our company policy expressly states we are not allowed to take any photographic or recordings of company property, locations, data centres, etc unless it is expressly permitted
2) We undertake military / government contracts and have signed all sorts of NDA's which refer to the above, etc
the list goes on. I don't fancy being handed my P45 to please a handful of school children cum fanboi's that have an axe to grind against anything anti Apple thanks.
Forums are full of complaints with a distinct lack of photographic evidence!
Why do you need permission to put a photo of a bent phone on a forum ?
Photo's or it didn't happen !!
school children cum fanboi's
However he then went on to say as I'm basically the first person to go in there with a bendiPhone
Considering your forum name I would kindly suggest you are the one thats rolls around in their own ****
Not another peep from me, I really can't be bothered to argue. Phones have been ditched and switched to Note 4's, litigation has started anyway![]()
Go Me!!
You sound far too important to be wasting your day posting on forums. I expect your company has a policy against that too !!
So it sounds like that store hadn't come across any other genuinely bent iPhones. Either Apple employees are being told to lie in hope to dispel the notion that it's very common (which wouldn't be right would it), or there's so few occurrences that Chris' store had only seen one genuine bend to date.
However he then went on to say as I'm basically the first person to go in there with a bendiPhone (there have been 'several') and not be a ranting **** about it (I used to work in PC World, so I tend to be quite nice to shop assistants) he actually proceeded to have a chat with the store manager who eventually authorised an out-of-warranty repair, but with no charge.
He did reinforce the 'out of warranty' status etc. a few times, and mentioned it absolutely won't happen again.
